Robert I. Betts
Mr.
Betts is a member of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and one
of the founding members of the law firm. He is a Washington native and has
practiced in the Seattle region for over twenty-nine years.
Mr.
Betts is a graduate of the University of Washington and the University of
Washington School of Law. While in Law School, Mr. Betts served on the
Washington Law Review and was named to the Order of the Coif as one of the top
graduates in his class.
Mr.
Betts has substantial experience in preparing wealth succession plans for high
net worth families and has probated in excess of 300 estates. His practice
focuses largely on planning and transactions on behalf of closely-held
business owners and families with taxable estates. In the course of his
practice, Mr. Betts has worked on numerous acquisitions and sales of
businesses and large parcels of com- mercial property. Prior to founding Egger
Betts Austin, pllc, Mr. Betts was a partner of the law firm of Williams,
Kastner & Gibbs, where he headed the tax and business practice group. He
is a frequent speaker to professional groups and community organizations on
tax and estate planning topics.
